Versatile Application

AeroBarrier’s innovative air sealing technology is effectively used in both single and multi-family applications. If it can be pressurized, it can be sealed!

AeroBarrier single family

SINGLE FAMILY BUILDINGS

For residential applications, reduced building envelope leakage means improved energy efficiency, reduced mechanical loads and increased durability. More importantly, a tighter building envelope can help increase the overall indoor air quality and comfort within the home, leading to a better living environment for your future/current occupants.

In new construction or retrofit applications, AeroBarrier can accurately seal at any stage from rough-in to move-in allowing you to have your air barrier post at the sheathing or drywall.

AeroBarrier’s innovative technology finds leaks that are hidden behind surfaces or in areas that are unobservable and impossible to reach by hand which offers more flexibility in air sealing than ever before. With a seal taking an average of 5-6 hours and a re-entry time of 30 minutes, your additional trades can quickly pick up operations, allowing your schedule to stay on track.

Multi-family AeroBarrier

MULTI-FAMILY BUILDINGS

One of the biggest obstacles builders run into when it comes to multi-family construction is compartmentalization – especially at party walls. It is vital to properly control indoor air quality, odor, smoke, sound and fire. Reducing the amount of air leakage in large multi-family buildings also lowers the amount of moisture that travels in the air, which decreases the likelihood of mold & water damage.

We set the system up in one dwelling and as the air seal is happening, our crew quickly sets up in an additional dwelling. This allows us to air seal multiple dwellings in a single day and deliver measurable and guaranteed results.

With the multi-family blower door testing rules getting more complicated in Massachusetts – each multi-family unit has to pass on its own without depressurizing the adjoining conditioned spaces – AeroBarrier is a great, cost-effective solution to achieve compartmentalization. Commercial applications

COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS

Not only is AeroBarrier able to reduce up to 80% of the building leakage, it is also able to bring commercial buildings within the USACE specification for building envelope leakage. Using AeroBarrier in new or retrofit commercial applications improves the consistency of installation, reduces labor costs and improves air sealing effectiveness.

AeroBarrier’s system allows us to place up to 16 nozzles and can easily cover up to 10,000 sq ft. We start by prepping the space by covering any openings in the ventilation system and finished horizontal surfaces (depending on the phase of construction) and divide off large areas for proper pressurization of the space. We then set up the nozzles around the space, place the blower door to pressurize the space and watch as AeroBarrier removes the air leakage. It’s that easy!
