Benefits of AeroBarrier

Air sealing your home with AeroBarrier has many benefits. It’s a safe and cost-effective way to improve durability, cut heating/cooling costs, increase overall comfort, and create a healthier indoor environment.  In multi-family buildings, air-sealing minimizes noise and the migration of smoke and odors which effectively compartmentalizes the individual units.

Reduces Build Costs

AeroBarrier allows you to streamline the air sealing process by removing the labor inconsistencies of time and quality.

Every trade can impact the air tightness of a home; its not just the responsibility of the framer, insulator, and drywaller. With so many people having an effect on the air barrier, it can be a challenge to manage the integrity of the air barrier during construction.

AeroBarrier shoulders the largest responsibility for air sealing your project which allows you to eliminate miscommunications and scope assumptions from your subcontractors.

AeroBarrier not only reduces labor costs on the front end, it removes costly rework on the back end, removes the cost of additional compliance attempts and the worry of holding costs for not meeting deadlines.

AeroBarrier reduced build costs

Reduce Labor Costs

Cut your labor costs by having one trade responsible for air sealing. Guaranteed results translate into compliance certainty.

Eliminate Re-testing

Failed blower door tests cost both time and money. Re-test fees, holding costs, and schedule delays can all be avoided.

See The True R-value

Reducing air movement within the building envelope will allow your insulation to perform as designed.

Right Size Mechanicals

With a tight house, mechanical systems and ductwork can be smaller. These systems have lower initial and ongoing costs.

Strengthen Renewables

With reduced heating/cooling loads, the energy a house requires is decreased. This means that smaller renewable systems can power a home.

redefine ambition

Meet Any Requirement

Stretch Code, 2018 IECC, LEED, Energy Star®, Net Zero Ready or Passive House

These codes and programs leave little room for error when it comes to sealing the building envelope. AeroBarrier is the only solution that can guarantee any level of envelope tightness, from 3 ACH50 all the way to the Passive House standard of 0.6 ACH50.

AeroBarrier is UL Listed.

• Approved as an air barrier for all: L500, M500, P500, U300, V300, and W300 series assemblies
• Flame Spread – 0 / Smoke Developed Index – 0

An example of a seal report. It identifies before and after air leakage, a percentage reduction in air leakage, and an illustration of how the air leakage changed over the course of time.

Results Are Measurable

AeroBarrier integrates with industry leading testing equipment, allowing you to track results in real time.

AeroBarrier’s measurable results remove the guesswork and headache of uncertainty when it comes to meeting any air sealing requirement. The system updates every 60 seconds and tracks in both ACH50 and CFM to accommodate the different air requirements, removing your need for any further calculations.

Upon completion, the system produces an air sealing report that will give you both the satisfaction and confidence of knowing that you met your requirement. No other air sealing method out there will provide this guarantee.

Aerobarrer greenguard gold

The Sealant is Safe and Durable

AeroBarrier is GreenGuard Gold certified with Ultra-low VOC content and no off-gassing. Work can resume in the home within 30 minutes.

With AeroBarrier reducing air infiltration to the home, you can better control the materials that come into contact with moist air. Moist air can condense on materials that were not intended to be wet.  This may lead to material degradation, mold or mildew, and potentially structural failure from rot. All these issues can be hidden in the walls, ceilings and floors for extended periods of time.

The X1 sealant achieves durability performance in 3 key areas: flexing, aging, and compatibility in tests simulating 50 years of service.

indoor air quality

Improves Indoor Air Quality

The average person spends 87% of their life indoors and will take over 20,000 breaths per day.  Air sealing is vital to create a comfortable, healthy indoor environment.

By properly separating the indoors from the outdoors, we can begin to control the contents and quality of the air. AeroBarrier decreases pollen, mites, allergens, and other particulates that infiltrate structures from the outdoors which result in poor indoor air quality. Often, indoor pollutants have concentrations between 2 to 5 times larger than typical outdoor levels.

Designed for Savings

A tighter building envelope will reduce the heating and cooling needs of the home.

These reduced loads mean that smaller systems can maintain indoor comfort with fewer upfront costs and operating expenses.  The utility savings over the life span of the equipment can be significant.

There are utility sponsored incentive programs that encourage builders and homeowners to do a better job of air sealing – AeroBarrier makes that easy. Click here to learn more about the incentive programs.
